About Bridges To Burn & Me

I believe some bridges were meant to be burned to the ground, especially those that lead to the destruction of our souls. This publication is about humanity and dismantling systems of oppression.

I’m a polymath who’s seemingly lived many lives. I worked in Corporate America for 30 years, working my way up to the CEO spot. Eventually, I got tired of being the only in the room — only woman and youngest person (amazingly). I quit at the top of my game because I was exhausted from the bullshit.

In 2021, I started my own executive coaching business to be the sounding board and supporter I never had. My goal was to put more women, people in the global majority and true advocates for those communities in power. I fundamentally believe the way we do business is inhumane (by design), and it’s a massive drain to people, society and business. There is a better way. I know because I practiced that way when I was a CEO.

Around the same time I started my business, I started on an anti-racist journey. I wanted to understand how I’ve been indoctrinated and done harm to people in the global majority and other historically marginalized communities. That led me on a quest to unravel not only my own racism and white feminism but all of my other -isms. This process liberated my mind and made it impossible for me to see the world the way I once did.

I got my empathy and imagination back, and got involved in activism, writing and content creation. Like any good polymath, I write about a wide range of topics including:

  • Social justice and human rights

  • Anti-racism

  • Conscious consumerism

  • Activism and politics

  • Fighting fascism

  • A humanist approach to the workplace

When I’m wrong, I’ll tell you I’m wrong. I’m a thinker and prone to change my mind when presented with better evidence. My writing and content has become like oxygen to me because it gives me an outlet for to organize, frame and express my thinking.

I live with my husband, Ned, and our four golden retrievers Willa, Pippa, Graham and Mac on a little farm in New Hampshire.

Why subscribe?

I believe Substack is a place to create community. I recently left every other social media platform to create exclusively for this one. I offer research and ideas on how to disconnect from the matrix and systems of extraction. I spend upwards of 20 hours per week creating content. Given that investment of my expertise, I believe a paid subscription is worth the cost of admission. I hope you believe that too!
