This episode is about two big themes that I’m seeing continuously in my executive coaching practice: comfort and the silent treatment.
First, we tackle the idea of comfort. We all like to believe work is a meritocracy, a place where we’re recognized and rewarded for the good work we do. Believing this gives us some feeling of agency and control over our professional lives.
Unfortunately, those in power will do anything to preserve their own comfort.
We’ll examine the roots of workplace comfort and how it shows up.
Next, we’ve all experienced the silent treatment in our personal lives, but what happens when we encounter it at work? We’ll talk about how the silent treatment is a form of emotional abuse and alternatives to icing people out when we feel triggered at work.
Give it a listen!
